The buying decision / 01

Amino acids
vs protein.

Start with the question you want the label to answer. Adding protein to your diet and choosing a specific amino acid blend are different buying decisions.

Compare the four categories ↓

Read across, then choose what matters

Four categories. Four label checks.

01

Protein powder

What you are buying
Protein from the source named on the label, such as milk or a plant ingredient.
Compare this
Grams of protein per serving, source, allergens and the full ingredient list.
Do not assume
A scoop’s total weight is not necessarily its protein weight. Check the protein line.
02

BCAA formula

What you are buying
Leucine, isoleucine and valine; some products add other ingredients.
Compare this
Each named amino acid and its amount per labeled serving.
Do not assume
The three BCAAs are only part of the nine essential amino acids.
03

Complete EAA formula

What you are buying
All nine essential amino acids, if the ingredient panel confirms the claim.
Compare this
All nine names, individual amounts where disclosed and serving size.
Do not assume
A complete EAA list is not a meal or a guarantee of a training result.
04

Mixed amino acid formula

What you are buying
A particular selection of amino acids. POWER9 belongs in this category.
Compare this
The exact ingredients rather than the number in the product name.
Do not assume
Nine amino acids in a blend does not necessarily mean all nine essential amino acids.

Categories describe composition, not a ranking of effectiveness. Read the BCAA and EAA ingredient comparison ↗

What is on your shopping list?

“I want to add dietary protein.”

Compare protein foods or products using their protein content and your overall eating pattern. Do not use the milligram weight of an amino acid blend as a shortcut for grams of food protein. For a personal nutrition target, work with a qualified dietitian.

“I want all nine essential amino acids.”

Check for histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine. POWER9 does not contain all nine. A different formula is needed if that is your requirement.

“I want to compare a mixed capsule formula.”

POWER9 is a relevant label to examine. Compare its named ingredients, six-capsule serving and purchase terms with the alternatives you are considering.

Where POWER9 fits

A mixed formula.
A specific set of ingredients.

The POWER9 label lists leucine, isoleucine, valine, lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, glycine, taurine and beta-alanine. Six are essential amino acids. Histidine, methionine and tryptophan are not in the formula.

3,240 mgTotal blend per label serving

1,440 mgBCAAs within that total

50 servings300 capsules ÷ 6 per serving

These are label quantities, not an effective-dose claim. The blend weight is not a statement of equivalent dietary protein. Label serving size is not a personalized recommendation.

Evidence before expectations

A label cannot promise your result.

NIH’s Office of Dietary Supplements describes inconsistent evidence for BCAA supplements improving exercise performance or muscle building. Findings about an individual ingredient do not establish the effects of a finished multi-ingredient product.

This guide does not rank POWER9 against protein, prescribe a dose or claim that a supplement replaces a varied diet.
