Buying Amino Acid Capsules: A Label-First Guide

Amino acid capsules can contain very different formulas. Start with what is in a serving, then compare the capsule count, format and total cost. The number on the front of a bottle does not tell the whole story.

Label and source check: October 1, 2026 · Product education, not medical advice.

Choose the formula before the format.

BCAA products contain leucine, isoleucine and valine. A complete EAA formula includes all nine essential amino acids. Mixed formulas can combine some essential amino acids with other ingredients. Check the actual list instead of assuming that a nine-ingredient product contains all nine essentials.

POWER9 is a mixed nine-amino-acid formula in capsules. It contains all three BCAAs and three other essential amino acids, plus glycine, taurine and beta-alanine. It does not contain histidine, methionine or tryptophan and is not a complete EAA formula.

Compare a serving, not just a bottle.

A 300-capsule bottle is not necessarily 300 servings. The POWER9 label specifies six capsules per serving, giving 50 labeled servings. The full blend is 3,240 mg per serving; its three BCAAs account for 1,440 mg of that total.

For any product, check whether the displayed amounts are per capsule or per serving. A larger total does not by itself establish better results. Label composition and evidence of effectiveness answer different questions.

Capsules or powder? Consider your routine.

Compare the number of capsules you would need to swallow with the preparation instructions for a powder. Check capsule materials and the other-ingredients list on each product. Do not assume all powders contain sweeteners or that all capsules have the same ingredients.

POWER9 lists hypromellose as its capsule ingredient. You can inspect the bottle photographs and the complete supplement facts before choosing. The format alone does not establish superior absorption or effectiveness.

Compare the full purchase cost.

Divide the bottle price by the labeled servings for a like-for-like cost comparison, then include shipping and taxes. If you select a subscription, check its delivery schedule, recurring total and cancellation terms rather than comparing only the first delivery.

POWER9 offers one-time and subscription options. Current pricing and availability come from Shopify on the product page; delivery charges and taxes are calculated at checkout. A delivery interval is a shopping choice, not a dosage instruction.

Before you decide.

Are amino acid capsules a replacement for protein foods?

No. A capsule blend is a dietary supplement, not a meal or a substitute for the nutrients in a varied diet. Its weight cannot be converted into an equivalent amount of whole-food protein.

Where can I check the POWER9 ingredients?

The product page includes three bottle photographs and a supplement-facts table with amounts per six-capsule serving. Follow the directions on your current bottle and seek professional advice about personal suitability.
