Isoleucine
Isoleucine: Essential Amino Acid and BCAA
Read isoleucine’s place in the BCAA group, its labeled amount in POWER9 and the difference between a composition fact and an effectiveness claim.

One amino acid, two classifications.
Isoleucine is one of the nine essential amino acids and one of the three branched-chain amino acids. Leucine and valine complete the BCAA group. These classifications describe the ingredient; they do not rank it against the other essentials.
Essential amino acids come from the diet. Isoleucine contributes to the amino-acid content of dietary protein, so a supplement is not its only source. The classification alone cannot show that someone has a dietary shortfall or needs to buy isolated isoleucine.
Check what a 2:1:1 formula actually contains.
POWER9 lists 360 mg L-isoleucine, 720 mg L-leucine and 360 mg L-valine per six capsules. Together those three quantities give 1,440 mg of BCAAs in a 2:1:1 ratio. The ratio is a composition description, not proof of an optimal dose or benefit.
A competing product can have the same ratio and a different total amount. Record milligrams per labeled serving alongside the ratio. Do not compare the full POWER9 blend weight of 3,240 mg with another product’s BCAA-only total; six other ingredients contribute to the larger blend weight.
Keep research and label arithmetic separate.
NIH ODS describes inconsistent evidence for BCAA exercise benefits. Knowing the isoleucine amount cannot establish a training result, and an ingredient study does not automatically validate the finished POWER9 formula.
The page does not claim that isoleucine supplementation treats a condition or prescribe timing, loading or a personalized amount. A healthcare professional can consider your overall diet, medications and medical history when assessing whether any supplement is suitable.
Use the ingredient check to avoid a category mistake.
A product with isoleucine is not necessarily BCAA-only, complete EAA or a protein replacement. POWER9 contains all three BCAAs plus six other amino acids. Six of its nine ingredients are essential; histidine, methionine and tryptophan are absent from its list.
If you want only BCAAs, check that the active formula stops at the three names. If you want all nine essentials, confirm every essential name. If you are considering mixed capsules, read their complete composition and capsule serving count before comparing cost or convenience.
Before you decide.
Are isoleucine and leucine the same ingredient?
No. They are separately named essential amino acids and are listed separately on the product panel.
Does isoleucine make a formula complete EAA?
No. A complete EAA formula needs all nine essential amino acids, not just one or all three BCAAs.
